Default RE: Powerline Edge is on the Way

The WM Ultimate is DONE!!!

Time to get started on the PL Edge 540.[8D]

I'm gonna be up late. I'll post pics of the assembly. Might not get the pics up untill tomorrow.

The plan:
TH .75 engine--of course. It's my favorite 2-stroke and the best kept secret in the hobby for under $100. Not sure if I'll mount it inverted or sideways yet. Gotta take a look. Most likely inverted. Mounting this engine sideways in a small plane usually means I gotta remove the cylinder head to get the cowl off. Not my idea of fun.

RX--Hitec 8ch Supreme

1650mah 6V MH battery

JR4721 coreless on both ailerons--about 150oz at 6V

JR9011 coreless on both elevators--about 75oz at 6V. I'm gonna chop the torque rod out and use dual servos. I hate torque rods.

JR8231 digital coreless on the rudder--about 100oz at 6V. Might have to go with an 8411--that thar rudder is purdy big.

Possibly a Ramtec on-board glow system for the engine if I get lazy and don't want to rip the tank support out and lower the tank to line up with the CL of the carb. I'm thinking this is the way I'll go. This is such a nicely built plane that i don't want to cut it open and do surgery on it. I'm getting pretty good at modding ARF's--but they never look perfect. They look pretty darn good, but never as good as from the factory.

Look at my thread on the World Models 40 Ultimate and you'll see that I've modified the wings for aileron servos. Looks darn good--but not factory.

Thats all for now fellas. I got a plane to put together.[&:]
