Default RE: DO not get Tuscon Aero Shootout

samolot ,
Welcome to this kind of fun madness we call RC Scale Aerobatics. Check out the IMAC forum here on RC Universe. It deals with this kind of flying. I received the discs on Saturday and throughly enjoyed them. They don't however cover the sequence flying portion of the contest which is where the real point standing are. Really there are 2 contests within a contest. The freestyle doesn't count for overall standing. What we watched are the Unlimited Pilots freestyle routines. There are 5 categories for competetion beginning with Basic (any airworthy plane can be flown only in this category). Sportsman, Intermediate, Advanced and Unlimited are the other categories. Check out the IMAC site at www.mini-iac.com which has the sequences and judging criteria.

For learning 3D flying any of your choices except the "Stick" would be good. The UCD would be really easy to learn 3D however it is build really light so won't take a lot of hard landings. The Extra is probably the best overall choice (remember how many Extra versions you viewed in the DVD?) and the Giles would be good for sequence flying.
