RE: Is electro best beginner aircraft?
I'm still learning to fly. I have both, electrics & glow, I'm having much better luck with my GP Tower Trainer, keep in mind I also have qualified people helping me now as well, but I still think I like & trust the power of GP over my EP. GP may cost me more in the long run buying fuel all the time, but electrics cost alot initially to get started, at least if your gonna go with the good brushless stuff, & the lipo batteries, & the charger for the lipos. The ESCs for the brushless stuff can get rather pricey as well.
Samolot mentioned doing the foamy thing. I spent all evening and about $300 bucks setting up a foamy with all the good brushless/lipo stuff, spent about 1.5 minutes in the air before I crashed it to death![sm=confused.gif] It was then that I said ok I surrender, I apologized to the RC Gods, for I knew I had angered them greatly, went and got an Instructor, an AMA#, & a Trainer. Still on the waiting list to join the club though. Good luck to you.
