Roger to answer your question when these cylinders are plated from the factory on most the 150's there is plating material that gets into the transfer and exhaust ports.Have you seen how some DA's will idle semi smooth? and others shake like crazy. Well if the owner has takin the time to balance the prop and spinner and has not has any prop strikes then where is this vibration coming from? I will tell you it is coming from unbalanced flow through the cylinders. By cleaning up the transfer ports and matching port timing between the 2 cylinders these engines will run real smooth and will idle so much lower with out dieing. Also anytime flow is made less restrictive then power gains are made.So with that stated it is not feasible for DA to pay a guy to sit there all day and grind on cylinders when as a lil detuning helps with the longevity of the engine from the manufactures standpoint.
Bottomline is i am taking a great engine and making it better,If you ever get a chance to see and hear one of mine versus a stock engine you will see that what i am doing works.
My background in 2-cycle engine building and tuning spans 20 years...This is not my 1st rodeo
Hmmm Point well taken, thank you
