Hello,
The site isn't that bad. I kept the silliness off my mouse pointer by keeping to the edge of the screen and using the scroll wheel. One review by a teenager was in yellow on white background which is difficult to read. The reason for commenting on the site is because there isn't much else to review. You will assume that the service entails blue printing and polishing the ports. It may also include some minor port timing changes. I addition to adjusting the pop off pressure, gaskets and plug if needed. I would expect that for $150 to $250 you would get new plugs also. Anyway, much hype and not much subtance. Pretty graphics.
Regards, Dave

I have a Sala tuned/modified DA150. I had my DA150 in a Composite-ARF 3.0m Extra 300, first on mufflers, later on KS1090 style pipes. I thought my DA150 ran well in this Extra, noticeably better on the pipes than on the mufflers. My Extra was light, probably 38 lbs max, and it was a very sleek airframe, and I felt I had very good power. I ran the engine in per instructions, something in the order of 10-15 gallons of 33:1 Lawnboy Ashless mix. Unfortunately I lost the Extra to PCM lock out in January of this year. I sent the engine to DA for a check, and I bought a new ignition. I then had Xipp do his magic to my engine, and I put it in a TOC1 40% Yak54 on KS cans. The engine is now very noticeably smoother. It will idle about 300 rpm lower, and is very throttle responsive. The most noticeable difference is the lack of vibrations from the engine now. I am not talking idle, but from 1500 rpm and up, it is very, very smooth. I think I may have had one of my cylinders with a bit much flashing or other stuff from the casting process in one or more transfer ports, which would have made the cylinders not run the same. That, and more, has been rectified with Xipp's work, and my engine is an absolute keeper now.

Good question, last time I talked to Dave he didn't think there was a problem...Apparently 20 to 30 people each day don't think so either[8D] High volume manufacturers don't have the time to tweak each individual engine, hence the aftermarket...There's hardly an engine made that can't be modified...

Roger to answer your question when these cylinders are plated from the factory on most the 150's there is plating material that gets into the transfer and exhaust ports.Have you seen how some DA's will idle semi smooth? and others shake like crazy. Well if the owner has takin the time to balance the prop and spinner and has not has any prop strikes then where is this vibration coming from? I will tell you it is coming from unbalanced flow through the cylinders. By cleaning up the transfer ports and matching port timing between the 2 cylinders these engines will run real smooth and will idle so much lower with out dieing. Also anytime flow is made less restrictive then power gains are made.So with that stated it is not feasible for DA to pay a guy to sit there all day and grind on cylinders when as a lil detuning helps with the longevity of the engine from the manufactures standpoint.
Bottomline is i am taking a great engine and making it better,If you ever get a chance to see and hear one of mine versus a stock engine you will see that what i am doing works.
