I used one of the points eliminator units on my Quadra 40 to cure a glitch problem. If I could fix the glitch another way and go back to the points I would. Without going to electronic ignition, the points type system was easier to start and idled lower. I wouldn't change unless there was a problem. My 3.7 Sachs has points, starts very easy and idles at 1300 rpm.
