I believe the info from you other owners of this bird has, to this point anyway, saved mine, and here's why. I had been working on mine for 3 weeks doing my normal build, beefing up rear wing mount ,glassing and adding bracing to engine comp.,upgrading fittings, new & stronger tail wheel, and so forth when another pilot from our club turned my on to this site and i started reading about the wings. I tore the covering off the bottom and sure enough , broken ribs, missing sheer webbing, soft balsa,no spar in front of the ailerons and, well,it was a mess. All mods and repairs were made , center was glassed ,wing was balanced, covered with ultra cote red and white checker board( i love this stuff). 1st flight.......all was going well until the engine quit (moki 2.10 ),my fault, too lean. 1st landing was a dead stick. Landed on its feet but in tall grass. No "apparent " damage but needed checked over. 2nd flight.........after a normal take off and a right turn i went inverted , came across the runway ,rolled upright, turned left and ,still at 1/2 throttle, encountered massive flutter( humming bird wings)but the thing didn't come apart! Both servos now blown, i landed with elevator and rudder safely. Turns out the first dead stick damaged a servo and i didn't catch it. I replaced the 88oz nylon gear servos with 155oz digital metal gear JRS. 3rd flight........all went well till i tried to land with my idle a little too high. Advanced to go around and she quit again. yep... another dead stick, this time with no altitude or runway. I tore the gear loose. Easy fix but it wouldn't have survived the flutter on the 2nd flight had it not been for the repair to the wing as a result of warnings i read in this site. Thanks again. Hope i can return the favor.
