Stay away from the electric foamies for now. You will trash it in a flight or two. I just sold mine. It is fun to fly for a day or two, but you can't do a lot with it. It won't handle much wind and is very brittle.
Got a sky scooter myself, many mods, still flys quite often. It can handle wind just as well as my glows, in fact, i'm more likely to take it up in wind because if I crash it, i just glue it back together with 5 minute epoxy, and toss it up again! And the entire fusalage sells for around $20 if i remember correctly. ANYTHING involving balsa would be firewood after what I have put that through!
