Default RE: new to pylon and need help

We have two Warbird races here in Phoenix every year. They are both one day. Register in the morning and start racing. Three speed classes Bronze, Silver and Gold. No scale points of any kind but your aircraft must look like a WWII piston driven plane or Reno Unlimited class racer. Full rules are posted on www rcpro org. Club racing information is at www speedworldrcf com

They race a very similar set of rules in Tucson AZ, maybe twice a year. They call it SWRA Lite which means one day race and no scale judging. However, you do get a point bonus for providing color and marking documentation. Check at www swraracing com

They race a lot at Sacramento CA. I haven’t been there for a few years so I am not familiar with the current rules. We used to take a gang there. They changed the rules after every time we went there so we have cooled about going there. I don’t know their website address.

The biggest difference between the above racing and Q-500 is the course setup. The warbird racing is two pylon with the pilots outside the course. Q-500 is 3 pylons with the pilots inside the course. Very different to the pilots and callers. Another big difference is how cuts are handled. Also, you will find that all the above Warbird races are more laid back than the Giant Scale or 3 pole AMA racing. It’s more about fun than winning.
