I fly on Lake George when I'm ice fishing sometimes. I usually bring a SPAD. I just wear fleece gloves and keep the flight times short. One thing that can help is a pair of latex gloves to keep the glow fuel off your skin when you're messing around starting, etc. Also, a little squirt bottle of lighter fluid (Ronsonol) works great for priming the engines in the cold. A few drops down the open carb, a few flips to distribute it, and then an easy start.
