Fun World 3d ARF
Volfy and f2racer are certainly correct. But …I think there are a limited number of combinations here. The Fun World 3D has a rather generic mid-wing box fuse (with a canopy) and a fun fly wing. Given that rather generic combination how different can all these planes be? Other than a uniquely shaped fuse (e.g., Balsa Nova) what can companies do to make their planes look different. I think the answer is - not much. Perhaps they can vary the configuration of the tail a bit. Then you’re down to cosmetic things - cowl shape - covering scheme.
I always liked the Sig Somethin’ Extra - I just wanted a larger plane. At the time the 3D Freedom came out, it appeared somewhat uniquely positioned (at least to me) ... a relatively light weight 90-120 mid-wing fuse, with a canopy and a fun fly wing. I actually bought one I liked it so much - should be flying in a few weeks. I like the kit a lot but these things take considerable time, effort and expense to build.
Now comes the Fun World 3D - a nice looking ARF for $249 in the same basic category. Perhaps they will even discount a bit in the future. Seems like it could be a pretty nice deal. If you want this type of plane and you want to be at the field in a week or two … you can’t beat an ARF. I’m not seeing a problem. I’m not seeing a problem at all.
At the risk of being annoying …attached is a pic of an (edit) Extra 300S. It has a rather generic mid wing box fuse with a canopy (the cowl is a bit different but you can’t see it too well from this angle). If you remove the extra's wing and replace it with a fun-fly type of wing what do you get ? … I think we all know the answer ... the Sig Somethin’ Extra, the 3D Freedom, the Fun World 3D ...
Again, I don’t work for any of these companies. I just like this type of plane. Seems like a reasonable step up from 40 size before considering a larger (30% and up) and much more expensive plane.
edit: Even the GP U-Can-Do 3D seems to be a combination of known elements to me: a fuse from a pattern plane and some form of fun fly wing.
