Two more things : the higher the wing loading, the greater the tendency to snap ( that is why 3D planes with very light wing loading can get away with much more control throw without snapping ). The CG position is crucial as well : moving it further back may well increase the tendency to snap as it makes the aircraft more unstable (but more maneuverable) With a more forward positioned CG the flying stability and tracking is better ( but at the cost of some degree of maneuverability ) You have to find the sweet spot for the CG that best suits your flying style. My CG is at the aft end of the recommended range. My Giles is one of the older ones without the aluminum wing joiner.
