Default RE: Prop for Evolution 58 at altitude

ORIGINAL: ben beyer

I'm at 5000 ft. Would a MenzS 24x10 be ok for breaking in my Evolution 58? I want to do 3D with the airplane so should I maybe try a 24x8 instead?

Ben,

Don't go below a 24X10 with that engine. That's the minimum size prop you should run. From reading all the stuff from Dick Hanson on propping at altitude, it doesn't seem that you really make any changes because of the altitude....but if I were you (and if Dick doesn't post here) I'd PM him and ask.
