Makes perfect sense to me....Exhaust gasses expand when heated and the shape of the pipe aids in exhaust scavenging. The part of a tuned pipe where the pipe gets goes from a small diameter to a larger in diameter works the same way---Exhaust gasses are accelerated as the pipe gets larger. Brilliant!!!

What do you all think??? Is my conclusion all washed up???
