Noob problems - any advice?
Hi everyone, I'm new to the nitro truck thing, but not entirely new to nitro engines... I recently bought a Duratrax Maximum ST with the Torq .12 engine. I can't get the dumb thing to turn over to save my life, and can't figure out why. The engine gets good compression, so I don't know what's going on, but here's what I have been through:
- reset all needles to factory settings
- changed the fuel line and the vent line off the muffler
- checked the air filter to make sure it was good and clean
- took out the motor, tore it down and rebuilt it to check for problems
- checked all gaskets while I had everything torn down
- tried 3 different glow plugs and 2 different ignitors
The fuel is brand new off the shelf from my LHS, so it shouldn't be a problem. Every plug I have tried glows nicely when I hook the ignitor up to it. This is with a pull start, by the way... It seems like every now and then it kind of pops like it might turn over, but the rest of the time it just goes like you didn't even have fuel in it. I flodded it once, so I know it's getting fuel. Nothing seems to do the trick though.
Any advice on what I should check next? I've had some stubborn plane engines before, but never anything THIS bad, and I want to play with my truck sooooo bad!
