It's hard to tell--the planes DO LOOK similar, but I think the fin shape is somewhat different. What is that plane, and who is the pilot?

It has been somewhat vexing for me that you can read only PART of the AMA number.

I will tell you who I have always THOUGHT it was after I can hopefully get some input. The identity of this fella, (and his son), has been an ongoing mystery for a long time. Whoever it is, he must have been a prominent pilot in the early days of RC pattern,or he would not have been invited. I KNOW this meet was attended by, (and this will tell you who I KNOW it isn't):
