My personal recommendation (biased... ;-) would be a sky scooter also. Fairly affordable, but figure in the cost of at least a decent charger ($50), and possibly some extra battery packs and the 3:1 gearbox/9.6 SF prop.

The SS is VERY easy to repair, epoxy is your friend! I can say it is probably impossible to crash it beyond repair, i've completely ripped mine in half, several times, still flys great!
