NIMH's self-discharge much faster than NICD though. They need to be peaked, even if left over night, which can kind of suck. I've had NIMH's lose 20% of their charge just from sitting over night
I think NICD would be a better way to go for a receiver battery. Besides, the only way you'd develop memory on a modern NICD cell is if you managed to discharge it to the exact same point over and over and then charge it again. Memory really isn't an issue with modern NICD cells anymore. It's an old tale that seems to persist even though it's no longer a threat.
Also, ALL cells should be cycled once in a while. Constant charging and discharging will imbalance individual cells. Fully discharging and slowly re-charging the cells will re-balance the pack. For the best performance and life from your batteries, you should cycle them every once in awhile, nicd and nimh both.
