sorry LazyBee. theres questions i dont have answers to and im sure others dont reply as well when they dont have answers. the exact material used for the blades i dont know. its some sort of plastic it could even be a glass filled nylon. i wouldnt suggest hitting anything with the blades for the helicopters sake or your furnitures. they spin pretty fast even though there not heavy or made of wood or carbon fiber they probally could do some damage depending on what they hit. the customers BCX i saw and flew today hit a display with packages with plastic covers on a display rack when he crashed it. he cut power rite when he was about to hit it. he busted the flybar part that people here have busted and chipped one of the blades/the packages he hit looked ok and didnt get ripped apart. this was the first time i saw a helicopter crash in person/i wouldnt treat a heli like a toy regardless of size. be safe and have fun
