You can spend as little or as much as you want on radios and field equipment (there is a huge selection out there). A good 4 channel radio with 4 servos, TX/RX batteries and charger will run from around $125.00 and up. for field equipment you can start out pretty cheap ( hand crank fuel pump, glow igniter, glow plug wrench and a chicken stick ) this is enough to fuel and start the airplane for around $30.00 to $40.00. If you want more accessories you can add a field box, glow panel, electric fuel pump, 12 volt battery, electric starter.... as I said you can spend as much as you want. If you have a flying club nearby I am sure they could help you get started and give you some more advice on getting into the sport.
