AndersDK,
The Something Extra is a great kit to build as a first kit. There's a joke running around that all you do to build this kit is open the box, throw in a bottle of glue, close the box, shake, and remove the finished product. I've built 2 of them now and thinks it's a great kit. The instructions are very complete and has plenty of photos in it. The fit of the parts is outstanding. You'll do well with this kit.
On the other hand, if you're not careful the SE can be handful if it's your second plane. I would recommend that you put the control throws at the low rate that is recommended in the instructions. You might also want to have an experienced pilot do the trim flight and maybe buddy box you for the first couple of flights. The reason I recommend that is because this plane is very maneuverable and can get out of hand for a new pilot. But once you are comfortable turn the rates up to normal and have a blast.
One other problem is that this plane can roll so fast that it literally coats all of the plane with exhaust residue and oil!!!!

Hope this helps.
