Well, travelling at a decent speed may be a problem. Depends on where or when.
Sounds like the best bet for the two of you would be somewhere in the OC (Orange County) like Irvine-ish near the 5/405 interchange or the Beach Cities area (San Clemente, San Juan Capistrano).
That would put you about 1/2 hr north of Carlsbad/Oceanside, and her between 45 minutes to 2 hrs. from her work[]

As far as Jet flying fields...the Sepulveda Basin's Apollo field in Van Nuys (very near Burbank) is about the most southern of the Socal Jet fields left [:@] (other than Camp Pendleton, if your military, and a fire ban is not in effect). Slim pickins' to say the least.
