Ditto what GSR said. Traffic is a complete biatch here in SoCal. The commute you are talking about is brutal. I drove from Orange County to Burbank the other day for a couple of meetings. Average speed 8 mph. at 9:30 am

Anything between a 2 to 4 hour drive in each direction is the sad truth for both of you with those work locations.

Going to the Basin to fly jets on a Sunday will be anything from 1 to 2 hours each way. I-405 and 101 are nothing but big 10 lane parking lots.

Sorry to make it sound grim. I moved here 1 1/2 ago from Florida and absolutely love it. Except for the part when I have to get in the car and go somewhere further than 10 miles away.
