RE: GP Matt Chapman Flat out
i had three of these!! it was a great flying plane!!! but you have to do a few reinforcing things to make it strong. on the ailrons use some flat carbon thru the control horns to make the foam stronger there also take some thread and wrap around the control horn and the carbon tube that they hinge off of, cause they conrol horn is also a hinge and it like to pop off and it knocks it bad out of trim!!! i also ran some thin cabon onside the trailing edge carbon to add some strengh to the wings cause on the cap they flex some cause it's a low wing plane!!!! one thing i did to the landing gear legs was i add an extra peice of 1.5mm carbon to th leg to make it stronger, cause they are kind of weak, and becarefull and don't have any hard landings cause the legs will break off. i used a rimfire!!! an excelent motor for the flatout!!!! it has tons of power!!!!! and his plane it did fly like a cap!!! i couldn't beleive that a flat foam cap would like just like a cap but it does!!! all in all it's a very enjoyable plane to fly!!! i loved to do slow fly bys and roll to knife edges to do picture passes!!!! i've seen matt chapman fly the real cap580 at joe nall and it is one awesome show!!!!!
