One thing I didn't see in scanning through your article is a comment on the proclivity of reed-valve engines to run backwards. I also would not advise flicking the prop. In my experience, this is an exercise in futility. Rather, after the prime, I turn the prop backwards. Hook up the glow plug and hit the prop forward smartly.
I would have ordered the article exactly as you did. We think alike; however people who think like us make up only some 10% of the population. The other 90% are going to want a "do this to start your engine: 1., 2., 3., . . . " up front. They simply won't make the effort to understand the process at the initial point. They want a magic formula for instant success.
