Hi All

I'm new to electric rc's and have a few questions. I just bought a Hobbico Profisherman. I've read what info is available on the motor but there are huge gaps that I hope someone can fill in for me.
1) Can someone tell me the voltage of 1 NiMh, 1 Li, 1Lipoly cell?
Cell voltage varies on cell size, the most common EP boat uses sub C cells (NiCd or NiMh) which are ~1.2v

2) Can someone tell me a little more a "mAh", what does it meant and what is it's relevence?
Milliamp hours....at a given amp draw you will get x time before the cells dump. A 3600mah pack should run exactly twice as long as an 1800mah pack. Mah is like how much fuel you have in your tank.

3) The prop that comes with the boat is a 1.25"X2.01" That seems kind of big to me.
Props usually are quoted by the diameter first then the pitch. You have it backwards... I presume so you are talking about a 50mm dia prop with a 1.25 pitch which does seem pretty large for a fast electric but the profisherman is not really a fast electric stock and the motor is probably designed to run at lower rmps and high torque.

4) When I upgrade the motor, will I need to get a new esc?
It depends on which motor you get. Do you currently have a "switch" or a real ESC? What motor do you want to put in it and how many cells do you want to run? You have to know this info first.

Any help would be appreciated. Even if someone has a good link to "need to know" info for beginers.
