Stay with the 531's ! They are good servos, and should work fine for this .40 size application. Like mentioned before, just change the rudder servo to something with more Torque. Don't think you need a Digital though. A 4721 or 4131 should work fine.
My Flip will have all 531's, a 4721 on rudder and a 331 on throttle !
