Well, I hope it all goes well for him. I will try not to be negative about it as I am glad for the guy. Sims are great. But they are not truly 3D expressions of the real world. They cannot simulate everything. That includes all sorts of variables that real RC Pilots deal with every day including brain farts and just bad days in general. Once I actually had a jogger come and stand right out in the middle of the runway as I was on approach during a deadstick landing. I screamed at him to move but he was hypnotized by the incoming plane. I leveled out and nosed up to slow descent to give him more time to move but he just stood there. For the betterment of humanity I rolled it into the ground to prevent hitting him. He shrugged and turned and went on his way like nothing ever happened. I still wish I had kicked his butt but I didn't. I could have... but see if you sim replicates that. I also had a plane of mine wasted on the ground one time. There was a bunch of us flying that day. Some idiot punk flying a 60 size mustang landed his bird in a tailwind, out of the pattern no doubt. Everyone was pissed. His craft hit the ground and he just let it settle in at idle. He lost site of it as it came my way directly for me and my son. It was still hauling balls. I jumped up and grabbed my son as it left the runway and came directly for us. As I snatched up my son and wheeled around it cut my Super Sporster 40 in half right behind the wing. We were in the pits. He had no sight of the plane yet did not shut it down. He landed out of pattern at dangerous speeds in a tailwind endangering many people. He put his plane before people and property...something I will not do. I wanted to stomp his plane with both feet but I didn't. He told me he would buy my plane but I was mad and told him to just get away from me. I said man just get your plane and get away from me and my kid. I put my son in the car then I went back and gathered up my gear and busted up plane. I seen the same guy later hit an old lady sitting on a lawn chair with the very same airplane. I was ready to kill him then but I didn't. Anyway, sims don't SIM everything. Anyway, I am glad the new guy was succesfull. Maybe he will make a great addition to the hobby.
