yeah, you can put other in it, I had two 20 turn stingers in mine(yeah i know that they arnt good motors, but the stocks where shot and Its all i had) they worked fine, Id replace the bushings with ball bearings, never had a main gear go out...even running an all or nothing microswitsh when the msc went out, and i had them wired in series, 14.4 volts to each motor, i wouldnt recommend that unless you use motors made for an e-maxx which runs 14.4 volts...and e-mass stockers are fan cooled also. on mine i took off the hatch cover the motor compartment, then cut the fronts nicely out of the two big scoops on the hatch which helped a ton with motor temp, it screamed, the boat would really benifit from a better prop but I dunno what one to run for that setup which also veries with which motors you run, and yeah the outdrive and gearbox sounds awesome running out full throttle. to water cool it in stock for would be hard with the stock pinions as the put the motors very close, so maybe a coil the was oval shaped and went around both motors would do the job...
