I've found that the brushed motors standard with this type of plane are anemic.
Going to brushless, and specifically a 400 inrunner or outrunner amplifies performance tremendously!
Swapping the brushed 370 in an e-Flite Tribute or Ultimate with a inrunner 400, using the same gear box and prop changes a mediocre performer to unlimited vertical.
I think I flew one flight with the Yak with the stock motor before changing it to the outrunner, direct, no gear box.
Unfortunately it's about $180 bux to do the full change.. Motor, ESC, battery, adds up quickly.
