I recommend taping up the area where the tailwheel attaches to the fuse. The tailwheel area tends to break the foam off with just about any sort of bumpy landing.
You have the right idea keeping it in low rates, it's actually a fairly docile flyer & you can cruise around at a decent altitude until your more comfortable with the plane.
For landings, I fly the plane at very little throttle while keeping the nose up & it floats in so slow that my trainer gets jealous.
I'm sure you've read that the servo's tend to strip out on this plane. I've been fairly lucky and not crashed because of this, but I have stripped out several servo's. They just start clicking & the surface movements get a little notchy so I replace the gears in them. I think the servo rebuild packs are only around $1 so the expense isn't huge.
