Composite/Tailwheel Question
I have a Comp ARF Yak and to mount the tailwheel you have to drill a hole(s) in the rear of the aircraft to support the tail wire. When I drilled the hole(s) according to the manual I was surprised to notice no hardwood behind the composite/balsa structure(first hard harrier landing and theres comes the tailwheel along with fuse damage). The area is so hidden that you cannot get inside the fuse to add hardwood. Now I have holes on the fuse. ARGH! What can a person do to support a tailwheel with no inner support and how to fix the holes? I thought of maybe Hysol with milled fiber, redrill and then tap. Please any advice!
Thanks,
Perry
