I have a Comp ARF Yak and to mount the tailwheel you have to drill a hole(s) in the rear of the aircraft to support the tail wire. When I drilled the hole(s) according to the manual I was surprised to notice no hardwood behind the composite/balsa structure(first hard harrier landing and theres comes the tailwheel along with fuse damage). The area is so hidden that you cannot get inside the fuse to add hardwood. Now I have holes on the fuse. ARGH! What can a person do to support a tailwheel with no inner support and how to fix the holes? I thought of maybe Hysol with milled fiber, redrill and then tap. Please any advice!
Thanks,

This suggestion is based on the fact that I am not totally sure of the configuration of your fuselage. I would suggest you cut out a complete section of the rear end big enough to take the complete tail wheel assembly. Glue in a piece of hardwood of the appropriate size. Sand/blend it to the fuselage contour and then fit the tailwheel.

Ed, How do you cut composite fiberglass fuse's so you dont mess up the paint? im trying to make a servo hatch bay in the bottom of my fuse. and I also have to redo my firewall section. in my case would include cutting off half of my firewall and part of the material that the firewall is mounted on.
Thanks
