as long as the temperature isn't too far over 240.deg, it should be fine to tune it however you want, a healthy engine is an engine that runs right and how you like it despite the temperature. My uncle has had nitro's since the mid eighties and he never used a temp gage and his ones ran finr for ages, he just tuned it the way he liked it and stuck with it. If you think about it the average engine cost between £90-£150 even if its nakered after a year of having it how you like it, it was still worth while. just my thought on the matter.
