If it was totally dead, or brand new, dont let it charge for more than around 6 hrs. It might even be fully charged within a few hours, depending on the output rate of the transformer. Do you know what kind of battery (MAH rating) of the battery inside of the ignitor? If so, and you know the output of the charger, you can pretty easily figure out how long to charge it.
