Thanks JL - some good ideas there - food for thought. Can't wait to get mine on the pond. I thought I'd first of all install the conning tower arrangements according to the plan but then adjust the screws in the tower to hold the dive planes level and just try diving with the rear planes, my idea is to stop the sub diving too quickly. From my local model shop I've ordered a spare large gasket and a couple of rubber bellows as spares, I'll be able to add another servo later if I'm not happy with it's performance.
