Default Version2 Seawolf help please

I can't find locating strip nor screw doublers in my kit (6.2 and 6.4) but I have got a long strip of bendy plastic that I can't identify on the plan. Could this have been provided for cutting up and make the various locating plates etc - I see a couple of screw doublers are also needed in the conning tower construction too.????????

yes that is correct..cut them into the individual pieces.
i did not use the mechanism in the conning tower.
the rear dive planes will cover that aspect of the dynamic dive...
also try taping the hulls together, then bend the tabs into the correct curve, and glue the one side while the two halfs of the hull are taped together...saves a lot of problems later[>:]

Hi SR - I'm refering to the small tabs that are used to join the front top and bottom sections together (also the rear top and bottom) there are none in the kit - only the long spare piece.

Thanks for the tips Junglelord but I'm past that stage now. The sub is completed apart from the conning tower mechanism for the front dive planes - I've been wondering if that system was necessary. You obviously manage to dive the sub using only the rear planes. Do you need a lot of speed to get the sub down - and can you keep it fairly straight and level under the water. Also what did you do about the front planes, did you set them level or do without them altogether?

i used a copy of the back flange for the motor and put that up front for a micro servo[>:]
i got that idea from bigsax.
also i did not use the external on off extension...so i had the extra boot for the front servo from that.
the front micro only cost $35 and the unit will work very well with the front planes in the neutral position (glued)...but for the small cost go front dive planes too
i have a AIRPUMP from art broder for future static, but i lack the 4 channel radio required...i am using a three channel right now, and it works wonderful.
it is fast and will dive very easy[>:]
it can maintain depth very well too[>:]

Thanks JL - some good ideas there - food for thought. Can't wait to get mine on the pond. I thought I'd first of all install the conning tower arrangements according to the plan but then adjust the screws in the tower to hold the dive planes level and just try diving with the rear planes, my idea is to stop the sub diving too quickly. From my local model shop I've ordered a spare large gasket and a couple of rubber bellows as spares, I'll be able to add another servo later if I'm not happy with it's performance. Thanks for all the tips mate.
