I've been out of flying for 15 years and I just bought one. I'm pretty excited about it.
I tried another ARF plane and was really disappointed in it. It flew like junk and it would never go where I pointed it. I had some of my old flying buddies try it and they didn't like it much either.
I came back because electric is clean and quiet, and it looks like you can fly them just about anywhere. Some of the prebuilt stuff is really, really nice too. I got sick of building planes years ago, and I would have never gotten involved again if I ever had to work that hard to have fun.
I was ready to just quit again when I saw this plane. I had lots and lots of sticks in the past and never had a bad one. Had about thirty or so really good ones, but never got one that didn't fly great. even a crooked one flew better than most other planes.
Since I'm used to large, real wood lairplanes, most of the electrics foamies and profile planes look like toys to me, and the really nice onces were either too expensive or too complicated for them to be much fun.
The Ultra Stick is nice and uncomplicated, just like the sticks I'm used to, and it's a real wood airplane too with all the radio gear and electric stuff
inside the plane instead of being hung on the outside with velcro. It's extremely well build and I have no doubt it's going to fly beauifully. I've still got to get a motor and radio, but that will be later this week and I'll let you guys know how it goes from there.
Edit: How did I you get to be a "Super contributor" on my very first post?
