Chicken or egg...the engine settled in or did you finally just set the needle correctly?

They aren't preadjusted at the factory. You need to adjust both the high speed needle and the low speed needle.

A hot plug (OS #8 or Enya #3) is also a great way to keep the engine running reliably when you are running excessively rich break-in mixtures.
