RE: Moki 180/Glow engine
I have 3 of the Moki 180's and they all run the same. 2 turns out on the high end, K&B 1L plug, 0 % nitro with about 18% oil.
I have the Cline regulator on all of them. I agree the Cline is a little costly but in the cost of the whole airplane the Cline is not an issue. I scratch build and it takes a long time to finish one, so the Cline gives me a great running motor.
But your problem doesn't sound like the Cline will help you. I mount my tanks on the CG. Your tank is so close that your motor should run fine.
