Rob, you can assign any function to any channel in AFPD through the control menus. Your computer will recognize the G3 controller just like any other USB controller...or at least it should. Easiest way to check is plug in your G3 controller and then go to your computer's "control panel" and select game controllers. You should see the G3 controller recognized and operating there. AFPD can use any controller for that matter that your computer will recognize. For example you could even use a game pad or joystick as well. As far as idle up, throttle hold, or dual rates are concerned the answer is no I beleive as those are computer generated special programs accomplished by the transmitters themselves and not the receiving end. AFPD may have the idle up and throttle hold functions available to assign a switch but I am not sure as I don't play around with the helicopters that much. i do fly them around but I use the stock setups provide Mike Pilkenton

go to the control thing where you have all those red bars going horizontally, and assign the "Engine" channel to whatever channel throttle servo is for the radio, then set the "Collective" for whatever channel the radio is for collective.

i think then you can mix and have your Normal mode, and your Idle 1 and Idle 2 modes.

I have not tried this, am just suggesting what i think makes sense.

if it dont work, eh, i tried
