Default RE: Somethin Extra Engine Selection

I had the impression back then that it was a fun-fly plane but it's not really. The SSE is a combination of pattern, fun fly, and 3D. It doesn't excell in anything but fun. The plane seems very forgiving in a bad situation where the more Extra types would try to snap. They can take a pretty good crash and still be rebuildable. The plane has a low parts count and is relatively simple to build.

There was a guy at the field with a OS 50 SX on his SSE. He wanted to run a 11-9 prop for some reason. Another guy had a SSE with a 46 FX and a 12 1/4 X 3 3/4 prop. The one with the 46FX would fly faster and hang on the prop mmuch better than the one with the 50 SX because of the difference in the prop.

That flying field has a mess of SSE's Everyone has at least one SEE. There was a guy there yesterday with a 46AX on a beautiful one.

Enjoy,

Jim
