Default RE: GP .46 Giles---Misc Stuff

Hello again i'm glad this thread is still going ,my giles is in the hanger waiting for the weather to break, its still one of my favorite planes to fly ,it will do anything I want it to plus Knife edges either way KE loops too and no coupling issues blenders are a blur but comes out a little nose down ,and the rolls are incredible I had to take some throw out ,although It will snap if looped to tight with out enough power but its easy to get back into control.I run a YS 91 FZ AC with a 14x8 I tried a 13X10 and didn't like the speedy landings that it had .The 14 throws more air over the wing and allows the plane to slow down to a almost crawl, with out any tip stalls.I did change the gear on mine to a glass type which lowered the plane some or I would have a 15X6 .Be warned about the control throws don't over throw the elevator or ailerons the rudder I max it .
This plane is not a beginners plane by no means ,but in the hands of a person with some flying time under there belt it can be a blast .One other thing with the set up I have this plane is fast, very fast I clocked my cap 232 at 124 MPH last year and the giles will eat it for lunch.
Thats the only prob I have it gets to small to fast *LOL* But all in all its a sweet heart of a plane, I back it off to around half stick and fly it .I hope you all enjoy yours as much as I do mine. Last but not least I did shim my gear about 1/8 to give more tail wheel pressure .Happy landings
