The futaba that most of the racers are using is the 3002.

However at about $65 these get a bit spendy.

Many racers are using Hitec 225s Nylon Geared servos in Q500 planes at nearly a 1/3rd the price of the 3002. They are also quite a bit lighter.

I use Futaba Radios with Hitec servos, and do not feel like I am buying a sub-standard servo by any means. I am betting a large part of the Non-Sponsored racers are also using hitec 225s.

They are battle tested.
