Use a quality servo for starters and Corrosion X will help too.

I have about 10 servos mounted outside the box. No balloons in my boats though. I have yet to have a failure and some have been there 5 or more seasons.

I have heard of people dipping them in wax to help protect them which could help but what a mess !!
