I'm considering remote mounting my servos outside the box with the reciever and the battery. Does anyone have any pointers? Can anyone tell me some of the pros and cons?
Thanks,

I have heard that if you do this, use Corrosion X and balloons to wrap the servo in. Ken.
Anybody know where I should get the water tight boots and linkage for the rudder?

Use a quality servo for starters and Corrosion X will help too.
I have about 10 servos mounted outside the box. No balloons in my boats though. I have yet to have a failure and some have been there 5 or more seasons.
I have heard of people dipping them in wax to help protect them which could help but what a mess !!

Thanks guys....
Hey Frog...If you have a local hobby shop you might check there to see if the have pushrods, horns, connectors, rubber boots, ect....It would be easier to take stuff back if it wasn't what you needed. I know there are a lot of hobby shops that carry linkage stuff for cars and planes that is the same stuff we would use.

Use a good quality servo and "paint" over the case half seams and servo lead with liquid electrical tape. Drop a small o-ring under the servo horn with a dap of lube and you are set. I have done this on many boats with good results and no failures.
