Default Composite Bobcat

Any of you guys that have assembled the Composite Bobcat, could you give me a hand with this question, please.
Is there suppose to be a gap of 1/16" between the booms and the wing root. It looks that if I get the wing root snugged right up to the boom the flap will bind on the boom. The instructions do say, when installing the phenolic tubes into the booms, to have a 1/16" exposed on either side. The side that fits from the boom to the fuse, nicely fits under the wing cut out in the fuse. The side from the boom to the wing will just butt up to the phenolic tube and stop when installed on the spars. Most pictures I see of finished products don't seem to show much gap. Maybe I am doing something wrong here.
Thanks for your replies in advance.
