The large scale aerobatics people I've talked to like the Hitec. I've been using Futaba radio equipment, but I was planning on using the 635's (I don't know what that Karbonite is, but it should be between the nylon and the metal gears) on everything but the throttle. I'm also planning on a 6V receiver battery.

Make sure you didn't get a flutter. When that happens, it can damage other things (like your gears in your aileron servo) almost immediately.
