My observation is this: Most (if not all) of the time, when a manufacturer/distributor is getting beaten up, it is usually for good reason. I too have been called down by a, "Moderator" and I have on more than one occasion taken exception to it. Some of the time, Others have supported me, and other times they have taken the side of the Moderator, and in at least one instance, they without exception took the side of the distributor.
I am very new with the ARF type of model airplane. (the one that I am assembling is the first) and I suppose that most (if not all) of you have come to expect to have to rebuild or re-engineer the model as a matter of course. I have been scratch building and kit and plan building for the last 56 years, and I never expected to have to do so much work on anything that is advertised as being, "READY TO FLY" thus the reason for my outrage. This was taken as an attack on one of the companies that obviously is the, "Pet" of the ARF world. This was not my intent. I just wondered why we did not get what we originally paid for.
So my analysis of the situation is this. Watch the other threads, and if most of the responders are, "Beating up" on the distributor, then by all means feel free to join in. If, however, the distributor that you have a beef with has been known to, "Buy" the loyalty of the masses by replacing what everyone knows to be a problematic or defective part (rather than correcting the problem at the source) then I would consider calling the distributor down on this thread, detrimental to your credibility within the R.C. world.
You will (in my experience) be brought up short by the, "Lord of the realm" better known as the moderator. (these guys were probably hall monitors in public school)
Just my observation/opinion. (ought to be yours)
