I do own a JR 421. It is a good radio and I use it mostly for training. It is great for basic planes that use no more than 5 channels. It also has basic mixing. If you had the money I would get the 6102 over the 421. It has more features and digital trims. I bought the 421 a while back and basically outgrew it. I now have an 8103, two 652's, a 622, and a 421. I'm going to get the 9303 with the synthesized module in the near future to replace all of those radios except for the 8103
